PHILOSOPHY
We are noble Paladins of Darkness. To outdo the countless hordes of Light, one must show a surpassing extent of excellence in skills, prowess, and honor.
This goal is hard to reach, but we will continue to try always.
We also always tend to hunt the best players, instead of earning the cheap frags due to the profane newbies.
We appreciate and look forward to any real challenge to prove our superiority.
We can lose sometimes, but we must lose with dignity.
Each member of NORD has to understand his/her duty, and recognize responsibility for the raising of the clan.
We have established it to create a new challenge, setting our goals and high standards. We’d like to encourage the Drakan Community to bring this brilliant game to breathtaking heights of sportsmanship and competitiveness.
Nowadays we are known as the most elite clan in the Drakan online community, so we have to show good results in the multiplayer battles regularly, to glorify our name and prove our right to be the very best.
This should mean each member of our clan has to understand his/her responsibility, and work out the most efficient ways to achieve this success.
Each individual victory promotes our clan name, while at the same time, one NORD member may assist another member to achieve a higher score.
COMMON RULES OF FAIR PLAY
Never attack typers or any other inactive players (note: it is often quite dangerous to hit someone who is about to be disconnected, because it may force you to share their fate, and you may get disconnected/lagged off next to them).
Warn players whose weapons seem invisible.
Avoid attacking players just after they respawn, allowing them to get some weapon first (especially when dealing with new players).
Be friendly to everyone... Remember, there are real human beings somewhere behind the screens... and every separate pixilated Rynn-character is a shadow of someone’s actions and emotions... they are alive, and sensitive.
Refrain from irritated comments/complaints of the personal kind (on lag issues, etc.)... whiners are contemptible.
Try to ignore rude remarks from other players unless they go to evidently indecent personal insults. Never swear in reply.
Remember, borrowing their lewd lexicon can lower yourself down to their odious state, so, always try and restrict yourself to certain borders of decency.
ADVANCED ETHIC RULES
The better player you are, the more restrictions you will be expected to put on yourself.
For example, we consider a total refusal to use any of the runes as an example of chivalry in the game, however, it is solely the player’s choice .
There are only a couple of players (like Oessie and ReapeR) who can keep to these noble gestures of fairness in multiplayer combat.
Moreover, it seems that this wonderful trait will never be met with any of the proper appreciation that it deserves. Opponents rarely pay attention to who exactly that it is that tends to give them as equally a fair chance as all the other players. They do notice, however, some reverse examples.
Therefore, this noble behavior remains unrequited. So be it.
We emphasize, it’s nothing but personal choice, i.e. nobody is forced to follow this example.
We see using rune of invulnerability to deny your opponent a kill as slightly... unfair (as they do deserve a kill), but this is considered a legitimate tool of the game by the developers.
Sometimes it becomes irritating due to the ping/lag issues. At the same time, the invulnerability option should be considered as a rather good counterbalance to weapons possessing secondary attacks such as fire and ice rings, etc.
Activating rune of invulnerability before starting to attack an opponent, we think, makes a player seem slightly... cowardly.
It makes the invulnerable player appear as if they lack the skills necessary to defeat their opponent openly and fairly.
It also shows a possible lack of self-confidence, and so on.
In our opinion, it may suit new players because they are still learning, but not the adept.
It is recommended for the members of our clan to avoid such tactics as soon as they have become confident in their reliable skills.
On the other hand, we feel that there is nothing wrong in using runes in a highly lagged environment when things seem totally out of control.
Using invulnerability to pursue running players, in our opinion, is unfair when the chaser enjoys a much lower ping that allows them to reach and slay any victim from behind, regardless of any other powerups being used by either side.
These rules are not obligatory, but recommended for the advanced members.
Anyway, we’d like to recommend to our members not to abuse runes in these ways, especially while dealing with new players.
Denying them their kills all the time would make them feel less than happy to continue to play this great game.
Finally, when a player has been alone on a single server for a long time, we consider it really dishonorable to use all the amount of collected runes to hunt down the newly entered opponent.
CLAN CODE
Members of our clan must wear their tag, which is {NORD}.
You may be a member of other clans too, and if you add several tags to your username, we don’t prohibit it, but we don’t approve, either.
(Wearing an awesome bunch of tags on your "tail" looks rather pathetic, we feel...)
We must be proud of our own clan name. We will fight to glorify it forever.
It is recommended that you add no other tags to your clan name, so that a person may be a member of more than one clan.
We are not restricting anyone’s freedom of choice, however, but sometimes things like this are impossible to control.
The only suggestion is to play under your specific clan name associated with the {NORD} tag only, so you may take part in other games using other nicknames (and other clan tags accordingly), if you feel like this.
Members of NORD specify the color of armor by their own choice. However, the recommended color for the best players is black.
We say:
"I’m proud to be a member of NORD!
I’m proud of my wicked-sounding name!
I’m proud to wear my armour of black!
For my soul is devoted to Darkness!"
Currently we need no ranking system.
The {NORD} tag itself is a symbol of supreme battling skills, prowess, and honour.
